Clay

Clay is an organic material from the earth.

Originally it was made from decomposing rock and minerals over a long period of time with many natural actions such as wind, storms, volcanoes, and earth quakes shifting the earth.  Highly malleable, clay allows us to manipulate its form by hand or machine.

It is transformed through a process with fire.

Bringing clay and glaze to a high temperature removes moisture and melts the piece on a molecular level.  The firing is a transformation from the clay's humble beginnings into a solid work of art.

What ignites a fire in you?

How can this fire assist in your transformation?

What is Cermaics?

 Ceramics is a rich tradition

Historical ceramic works have taught us about the rituals,
customs, and lifestyles of many past cultures.
These ancient cultures created  functional forms for survival, vessels with paintings that revealed stories,
and figurines for rituals and prayer.

The ceramic practice today can be infused with modern methods and contemporary ideas to create visual art that holds meaning to your lives!

Your potential is endless! It takes practice with problem solving, but anything you can think of you can create.
